Northfield Man Charged with Burglary, Meth Possession

Dale Robert Voracek, 40, is accused of breaking into two Nerstrand homes in search of a woman on June 10. In one home, Voracek is alleged to have poured motor oil on clothing and dumped an unknown liquid on carpet and walls.

A Northfield man is being held in Rice County Jail after being charged with burglary and meth possession.

Dale Robert Voracek, 40, is accused of breaking into two Nerstrand homes in search of a woman on June 10. In one home, Voracek is alleged to have poured motor oil on clothing and dumped an unknown liquid on carpet and walls, according to a criminal complaint filed in Rice County District Court.

An investigator with the Rice County Sheriff's Office found Voracek at a home in Northfield. According to the complaint, they witness Voracek shove a glass pipe under his mattress, which later tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the complaint.

Voracek is charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, fifth-degree drug possession, all felonies, and harassment/violating a restraining order, a gross misdemeanor.

In February, Voracek was convicted of domestic assault.

The first-degree burglary charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years and a minimum sentence of not less than six months of incarceration. The charge also carries a maximum fine of $35,000.

The maximum penalties of the other three charges are 16 years in prison and/or a $33,000 fine.

Voracek makes his first appearance in court today.
