Northfield Man Charged in Owatonna Assault

Michael Robert Boudreau allegedly punched a man in the face, breaking his jaw at a party last weekend, the Owatonna People's Press reported.

A Northfield man was charged with third-degree assault in Steele County District Court on Monday after he allegedly punched a man in the face, breaking his jaw last weekend.

According to Owatonna People's Press, Michael Robert Boudreau, 24, faces up to five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines in addition to up to the jail time.

Steele County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the emergency room at Owatonna Hospital Saturday night for a report of a past-action assault, the newspaper reported. The victim, who said he couldn't open his jaw more than a half-inch, told authorities he had been at a party in town when Boudreau came up to him and accused him of beating women.

According to Owatonna People's Press, Boudreau was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim and submit to chemical testing during his first court appearance Monday.
