According to Rice County District Court documents:

A Northfield Police officer was notified by two off-duty police officers at about 5:30 p.m. that a car was speeding and swerving onto the shoulder of southbound Interstate 35 and on Highway 19 toward Northfield. The Northfield officer began following the car when it turned onto Highway 3 south, then made a traffic stop after the car turned onto Woodley and then the frontage road.

As the officer approached the car, the driver of the car, Lacy, was observed attempting to hide something. Lacy allegedly told the officer she was pulling her pant leg down and that she was heading to work.

The officer reportedly noticed that Lacy’s pupils were constricted and not reacting to light. When asked, Lacy repeatedly denied using controlled substances, even as she reportedly continued looking for her insurance card after already providing it to the officer.

Lacy allegedly consented to a search of the car after the officer told her of his suspicions. When the officer attempted to look inside a pursue on the front seat, she reportedly tried to grab it. In the purse, the officer allegedly found a glass pipe containing black residue that was wrapped in a paper towel. A field test of the residue came up positive for methamphetamine.

A butane fuel bottle, butane lighter and a container with two small baggies carrying what appeared to be crystal methamphetamine allegedly was located inside a backpack in the car. A field test confirmed the substance inside the baggies was methamphetamine.
