A Northfield man has been accused of raping an underage girl he met on Facebook, and authorities say they have reason to believe that 18-year-old Michael Lyle Stucky, Jr. may have victimized others as well.
Stucky has been charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
The case against Stucky dates to Aug. 16, when Rosemount Police were called to Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville to speak with a 15-year-old girl, who reported that she had been sexually assaulted at her home around 4 a.m. The girl said Stucky arrived at her house in Rosemount in the early morning hours, after a series of messages over Facebook. She said that Stucky made sexual advances and became aggressive when she resisted. She told him to stop, but he took off her clothing. He began having sex with her, even though she tried to push him away with her foot and continued to protest.
When questioned by police, Stucky said that the encounter was consensual. He claimed that he had no idea how old the victim was.
During the course of the investigation, police uncovered information that suggests that the alleged sexual assault was not an isolated incident. Anyone who may have additional information should call Detective Julie Rauenhorst at 651-322-2001.
For the time being, Stucky remains in custody at the Dakota County Jail, held on a $75,000 bond (the bond will be reduced to $30,000 if Stucky agrees to abide by the court's conditions). His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 10.
