Elect Rick Esse for Fourth Ward City Council Representative

To the editor:

Rick Esse is the best candidate to represent Northfield’s Fourth Ward on the City Council. I encourage those in his ward to vote for him on Nov. 5.

With more than 30 years in Northfield, Rick has seen Northfield evolve and has the vision for where it should go. Rick is about thoughtful, constructive conversation, working together and compromise, not empty rhetoric, buzz terms and boondoggling. I encourage you to chat with him in the coming days about Northfield’s myriad issues.

Though considered cliché, Rick simply wants to give back to the community that has given him so much. This community has given him education, a career (both as an employee and small-business owner) and, most importantly, a place to raise his family and call home.

That’s the candidate I want helping guide the future of the city that I, too, have chosen to call home and raise my family.

I consider myself a good judge of character and knowledgeable of the challenges that face Northfield. I spent many years in Northfield and Rice County as an editor and reporter and have worked with dozens of candidates. In my estimation, Rick is as genuine as they come.

Rick offers a strong, independent voice to Northfield and, more specifically, its Fourth Ward. You can find out more about him at facebook.com/esseforcouncil.

Please go to the polls on Nov. 5 and support Rick. It’s what’s best for Northfield.
