Former St. Olaf Teacher Passes Away at 84
A memorial service for Paul Fjelstad is set for Saturday, Dec. 14.
Northfield resident and teacher Paul Fjelstad passed away at the age of 84 on Dec. 3, 2013.
According to his obituary on Legacy.com, Fjelstad graduated from Owatonna High School, St. Olaf College and Harvard, and taught physics, math, science and philosophy at Bates, Shimer and St. Olaf colleges, interspersed by extended sabbaticals in Switzerland, Germany and Liberia.
A memorial Meeting in the manner of the Quakers is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at United Church of Christ, 300 Union Street in Northfield.
