Former Northfield Pastor Passes Away 86
Rev. Robert Neil Hansen also played played on varsity and semi-professional baseball teams as a left-handed curveball pitcher in high school and college, according to his obituary.
Resident and former Northfield pastor Rev. Robert "Bob" Neil Hansen passed away at the age of 86 Dec. 29, 2013.
According to his obituary on Legacy.com, Hansen grew up in Greenville, MI where he graduated from high school in 1945. He then entered the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. After graduating from college in 1949, Hansen entered Trinity Seminary and was ordained as a minister in the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Synod in 1952, the obituary said. Hansen served congregations in Oregon, WI; Selma, CA; and Northfield and Harmony, MN before his retirement in 1992.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Jan. 11, 2014 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Northfield.
