DEATH NOTICE: Edward Hollinger, 88

Edward Joseph Hollinger was born April 28, 1925, on the family farm in Bridgewater Township, Rice County, Minnesota, to Joseph and Cathryn (Cziapa) Hollinger.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Dominic, attended District 31 County School,  Rosary School and graduated Northfield High School in 1943.   After his education he farmed with his brother Bernard.  Ed farmed and worked construction all of his life, retiring in 1989.  He has been a resident of the Northfield Retirement Community since September 2009.  Ed was a lifelong member of the Church of St. Dominic.  He enjoyed fishing and bowling league.

Survivors include his 5 nieces, 7 nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Joseph, Jerome and Bernard; and his sisters: Julia, Agnes, Lois Odette and Louise.

Ed passed away Thursday morning, July 25, 2013, at the Care Center of the Northfield Retirement Community at the age of 88.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield with Fr. Dennis Dempsey officiating.  Music will be provided by Martha Barth and Resurrection Choir.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Northfield.  Casket bearers will be his family.  Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
