A 5-year-old Cannon Falls boy was killed Thursday evening after an accident involving a skid loader.
According to a report in the Rochester-Post Bulletin, Matthew Mallett was riding in the bucket of the skid loader, driven by his great-aunt, Gail Henderson, 49. Somehow the boy fell out and was crushed.
In his obituary on the Lundberg Funeral Home website, Matthew's family describes him as an "energetic young boy who loved watching car races, helping people and being outdoors."
He is survived by his parents, Steve Klingelhut and Leslie Mallett; little brother, Chase; grandparents, Scott and Karen Markovich and Maureen Busch; and his great-grandparents Jerry and Anne Anderson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Cannon Falls. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home.
