Northfield Elementary School Chess Club Instructor Wanted
Northfield Chess Club Instructor wanted for fall season to teach at all three elementary schools for an hour each, per week from mid-August to October, 2012.
Northfield Public Schools Community Services is currently looking for a Chess Club Instructor to meet with groups of 8 - 16 kids (grades 1 - 5) in each of the three elementary schools, for an hour after school each week, for seven weeks this fall.
Qualifications Required: An interest and knowledge of Chess along with previous experience in working with kids or classroom management is required. A $25 background check is also required once hired, and will be deducted from the instructor's pay. The ability to teach all sessions of Chess Club is preferred; however we have had multiple instructors, on occasion.

Duties: The instructor will be responsible for preparing their own curriculum and will teach students how to play the game of Chess in the first few weeks and then move into more of a supervisory role once players are familiar with the basics.
Time Frame: Greenvale Park Media Center, 3:20 - 4:20 pm, Tuesdays, Sept. 18 - Oct. 30, 2012; Sibley Art Room 133, 3:20 - 4:20 pm, Wednesdays, Sept. 19 - Oct. 31, 2012; Bridgewater Cafetorium, 3:25 - 4:25 pm, Thursdays, Sept. 13 - Nov. 1, 2012 (no class Oct. 18).
