When to Ship Your Packages for Christmas

Use the interactive calendar below to make sure your gifts are sent in time for delivery by Dec. 25.

Look above to make sure you don’t miss the deadlines to send out your gifts so that they arrive by Dec. 25.

The USPS is predicting Dec. 16 to be the busiest mailing day of the season with 6 million customers expected to visit post offices nationwide, so be prepared and avoid the lines.

The volume of packages are expected to increase by about 12 percent this holiday season over last year, likely due to gifts being sent out for holidays.

Some important final dates:
12/17 - mail to military post offices via Priority Mail Express Military Service (PMEMS) 
12/17 - mail to Africa via Global Express Guaranteed Service
12/18 - mail to Mexico via Global Express Guaranteed Service
12/18 - mail to Europe via Global Express Guaranteed Service
12/18 - mail to Central & South America via Global Express Guaranteed Service
12/19 - mail to Canada via Global Express Guaranteed Service
12/20 - mail to Puerto Rico via FedEx® International Next Flight, First and Priority® 
12/23 - mail domestically via Priority Mail Express™ Service
12/23 - mail to Canada via FedEx®International Next Flight
12/23 - mail to Mexico via FedEx®International Next Flight
12/25 -  mail domestically via FedEx SameDay®

The calendar is color coded: military mail (blue), international mail (yellow), and domestic (green).
