Hiring: Don't wait until it's too late!

You're busy growing your company--but don't use that as an excuse to avoid the hiring process.

Most new entrepreneurs place their focus on business launch, getting that first customer and becoming profitable as soon as possible. This is critical, but it can be hard to break out of the I-have-to-do-it-myself mindset. Soon an entrepreneur realizes there’s a need for a new employee, but by this time, he or she’s swamped with projects and desperate for help.

It can be overwhelming to consider the application and hiring process, feeding into a vicious cycle of too much to do and not enough help to complete it. And once that employee is hired, there are required forms to be completed and filed.

If you’re looking to hire an employee—now or in the future—come to the Northfield Enterprise Center’s upcoming Lunch and Learn. Gina Franklin, Esq., (an attorney and senior professional in human resources at W.J. Flynn and Associates) will be teaching what you need to know about legal application forms; interviewing and hiring decisions; orientation strategies, and perhaps more importantly, keeping that employee happy and working for you.
