Workshop Notice: Northfield Roundtable—What COULD Be, Not What Should Be ...

Join the Northfield Roundtable in a discussion about the future development of Northfield.

I'd like to invite anyone interested to an upcoming workshop hosted by the Northfield Roundtable.

A little background: The Northfield Roundtable works to clarify, support, and facilitate a clear vision and framework for development and redevelopment opportunities that enhance the economic vitality and livability of Northfield, Minnesota.

This community-first-and-foremost group of involved volunteers encourages and facilitates ideas and action within the public and private sectors of the community. Success will come through collaboration across the community and is measured by the Roundtable's patient, long-term commitment and focused persistence to transform the framework plan into a community-based reality.

EVENT INFO:

You are cordially invited to join the Northfield Roundtable in another community workshop with urban designer Bill Johnson.  We will convene on Friday, November 16 in the Lower Level of the Archer House from 8 AM – 12 noon and again on Saturday, November 17 from 8:30 – 10 AM.   Our focus will be on the Highway 3 South corridor from the Cannon River bridge south of 5th Street to Menards in Dundas.  We will think about ways to make the highway corridor more inviting as a gateway and a link within and between our communities, as a vital commercial area, and as a multimodal transportation corridor. Friday’s morning session will offer participants an opportunity to brainstorm about the designated area and its current and future uses and configurations.  Bill will translate our ideas and insights into visual concepts, which he will present to us on Saturday morning.

You are invited to attend both sessions (or only one, if your time is limited).  Please note that the Saturday morning presentation and remarks will be based on the results of the Friday morning discussion.

Beverages will be provided.  Please RSVP to Margit Johnson at margit@usfamily.net no later than Wednesday, November 14 if you are able to attend one or both sessions.

We look forward to working with you!
