Coworking Incubator/Accelerator Program in Northfield- Community Brainstorming Session

January 31st, 2 to 4 pm at the Archer House Lower Level Conference Rooms

First, some definitions:

Coworking-it's like a coffee shop, library, and office environment all rolled into one. Collaboration is the key. Start-ups and existing businesses work side by side. Sometimes people rent a private office, others just show up and work in a common area. Conference and meeting rooms are available for rent.

Incubator- business incubators have been around since the 1950s. An incubator typically has special training, workshops, mentoring, coaching, and subsidized space. A business fills out an application and agrees to certain terms while getting all the great benefits offered by the Incubator.

Accelerator- business accelerators have many definitions...so the one that the NEC is using is this: Accelerator services include access to high-level marketing and strategy resources. In addition, increased access to Angel Investors and other financial partners is provided.

So what might it look like if we combine all of these services? The NEC already offers many of the services of an Incubator...just virtually.
