Celebrate Arbor Day with Free Trees

Friday afternoon, I'll be one of several University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardeners from Rice County handing out tree seedlings and offering planting advice in honor of Arbor Day. Whether you have a city lot or a large country property, this is a great opportunity to enhance your landscape at no cost.

The trees are all native varieties, supplied by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, including white pine, white cedar, red oak, bur oak, dogwood and black chokeberry. These are trees acclimated to our Minnesota climate that will grow well and thrive here.

The tree giveaway will start at 3 p.m. and continue until all the trees are gone.
