A Thank You Note to the Gentleman that Blogged: To Vote No for the Sake of Our Constitution

Rights = Responsibilities-#1. VOTE-# 2.Pay your fair share (Taxes) #3. Be engaged-if you choose to opt out ,we don't have a democracy, what makes it a democracy is us doing it.

Yes,I find it interesting that the people who keep saying no more big government intrusion in our lives...we demand fiscal responsibility, are pushing these amendments to our state constitution. Are these the same folks willing to spend Trillions of tax payer dollars to send our 18 year old men and women to the middle east,to fight and die so that religious fundamentalists don't rule their governments? Isn't that exactly what's going on here at home ? Specifically regarding the so called marriage amendment. What do you think the constitutional foundation of religious freedom means? And ironically, if the photo ID amendment passes, those young folks that are willing to put there lives on the line for democracy in our military, may not be able to vote here in Minnesota, since the military ID is not one of the acceptable forms of ID required in the voter suppression amendment. It may also make  it so that the men and women in the old veterans home in Faribault, who helped save the world from fascism in WW II, may not be able to vote... for the first (and maybe the last) time in their lives. Is this their reward for what they did for us?

These amendments were not created by our Minnesota legislature ,it is the cynical handiwork of a right wing group called ALEC..i.e. the Koch bros. and their 1% friends who want to maintain control over us. Please google-kochbrothers  exposed.com and alecexposed.com

If you love this state and this democracy,it's time to stand-up and fight for it,not with violence ...with the most sacred power you have..YOUR VOTE!

Abraham Lincoln said it so well..." That we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain. That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that this government of the people,by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." God Bless us All, Peace Jon
