Northfield community) will meet individually with students and provide guidance
with topics, research sources, and bibliographic information.  Mentors and librarians will demonstrate
library and other databases available for research.  Librarians will also display primary and

                Approximately 300 Northfield
sixth graders will be working on History Day projects this winter.    The topic this year is Rights and
Responsibilities.  This project is the
first substantial research assignment for these students.  Many students feel confused or overwhelmed at
the beginning of their research and the goal of the library staff is to help
the students by demonstrating available resources and providing a ten to
fifteen minute,  one on one conference
for each student.  The library staff
appreciates the generosity of the volunteers who are eager to help young
Northfield historians.
