Northfield’s fifth-grade band students wrapped their elementary school music careers with an outdoor concert last Thursday.
The students—led by band instructors Paul Beck and Roger Jenni—marched from Bridgewater Elementary School to Northfield Middle School, then played a concert at the middle school.
The event not only closed a chapter for the band students, but for one of their directors, as well. Beck is retiring as a music specialist in the Northfield Public Schools.
Many of the band students who performed last week will continue their music studies this summer by taking lessons with Jenni and band instructors Ethan Freier and Mary Williams.
