Welcome back, friend.

The National Weather Service is reporting a chance of rain—and then snow—today before noon and then again this evening as the temperatures drop after they peak at 42 degrees.

There's an 80 percent chance of rain before 9 p.m. and with a low around 31 degrees, the rain could turn into snow, possibly dropping 1 to 3 inches on Northfield.

That snow could linger into Wednesday but don't worry too much because a relatively warm ground will cause an instant melt, creating some possible slush.

A look at the extended forecast shows a slight chance of snow is possible for Sunday night.

Northfield saw its last year when a three-day storm from Nov. 12-14 dropped about 4 inches of snow, bringing the sleds out.

Other than possibly today, when will Northfield get its next significant snowfall?
