Snow, Snow, Snow: Snow Emergency in Effect 6 a.m. Tuesday

Up to 7 inches of snow could fall in Northfield.

UPDATE: A into effect 4 a.m. Tuesday and will last for 72 hours. Downtown snow removal will happen Wednesday.

Snow, often longed for during the holiday season, may be wearing its welcome out among many Northfielders and Minnesotans.

Northfield, Rice County and much of Minnesota is in a winter storm warning, which remains in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Following the record blizzard on Dec. 11-12, another 7 inches of snow is in the forecast for Monday, according to the National Weather Service. As much as 10 inches of snow could fall in other parts of the state.

Monday's snow fall won't come close to matching the estimated 15 inches of snow from the blizzard two weekends ago, but it could be a hindrance to those traveling.
