Northfield Gymnasts Win the Section Championship
Raiders' head back to the State Tournament which they have won two of the past 3 years.
The Northfield Raiders' Gymnastics Team, ranked second in the state of the largest school division, walked away with the Section 2 Championship at Northfield High School this evening. A packed HS gymnasium cheered the team on as they nearly cracked the 150 level again, winning with a 149.90 score.
The consistency and balanced scoring of Bailey DuPay [38.475], Christy Anderson [37.475] and Alexis Kiefer [37.425] led the team to victory over Winona and Owatanna and all three qualified for the individual all-around. The State Meet for the team championship of the large schools is next Friday evening, Feb 22nd at the U of M Sports Pavillion [west end of Williams Arena]. The Individual Championship Meet is Saturday, Feb 23rd.
