David Ludescher—Candidate for At-Large Representative

MY BACKGROUND

I grew up on a dairy farm in Farmington, Minnesota as one of 7 children.  I learned the value of hard work, honesty, and integrity of word and deed.  I worked my way through the College of St. Thomas ('81) and William Mitchell College of Law ('88). 

In 1984, I married Nancy Schreiber from Lake City, Minnesota.  Nancy was a College of St. Catherine's graduate ('82) and is a registered nurse (RN).  We have 4 children, two who are now married and living in the Twin Cities, one who just graduated from St. Mary's in Winona, and one who is attending Gustavus. 

I came to Northfield in 1989, and began work as an attorney for Grundhoefer, Neuville, and Ditmanson while Nancy worked for District One Hospital.  I am still an attorney with the same firm - now Grundhoefer and Ludescher.  Nancy now works as a parish nurse for St. Dominic Church in Northfield.

Our office has always had a policy of being involved in making the community the better place to live and work.  My volunteer activities - in no particular order - over the last 23 years have included:  Member, past board member, and past president of Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce, member and past and current president of Northfield Lions, past member and president Northfield Arts Guild, past member and past board member of Northfield Historical Society, past board member of Girl Scouts, member, finance committee member, and past trustee of St. Dominic Church, past Northfield city councilperson, Feed My Starving Children volunteer, Knights of Columbus member,  member and past president Rice County bar association, member Minnesota State Bar Association and judiciary committee member, and former volunteer Southern Minnesota Legal Services.
