New Year's Eve is here and people are ready to celebrate. But it's important to know what businesses may close early on NYE and what businesses will be closed (or open) on New Year's Day. Here's what we can tell you:


GOVERNMENT

  • Northfield City Hall is closed New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
  • The Northfield Public Library closes at 5 p.m. New Year's Eve and is closed New Year's Day.
  • Northfield Liquors is open until 10 p.m. New Year's Eve. It is closed New Year's Day.
  • The United States Postal Service won't deliver mail on New Year's Day.


SCHOOLS

  • Students of Northfield Public Schools, Prairie Creek Community School, Arcadia Charter School and St. Dominic School are on winter break through Jan. 1. They return to school Wednesday, Jan. 2.


BUSINESSES

  • Most major gas stations will not close New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
  • Business hours will vary for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Check our business directory to get the phone numbers of businesses to call for hours.


BANKS

  • Banks will be closed New Year's Day. Call for hours on New Year's Eve.

Northfield Urgent Care is open both today and tomorrow from 9-3.

Just Food is open until 9 on New Year's Eve - stop in and pick up some goodies before heading to the New Year's Eve gatherings! We are closed New Year's Day. Thanks for a wonderful 2012!
