SPUR is a co-working space and a business incubator designed to support small business owners such as freelancers, graphic designers, writers and other creative business types. It is a project of the Northfield Enterprise Center.

Northfield Patch sat down with Megan Tsui, Executive Director of the Northfield Enterprise Center, to discuss the current and future goals of SPUR.

Why is SPUR unique to Northfield?

Most towns our size don’t provide this kind of service. The consulting and coaching is free of charge, and they certainly don’t have co-working spaces available.

Have you ever had a day where you just wanted to quit?

No. Never.

If you weren't working with SPUR, then what would you be doing?

I would be doing this somewhere else.

What is the strangest request you've ever had from a customer?

Free beer.

What excites you most about Spur's future?

The benefits that the co-workers and SPUR members get from finding a space where people understand that they are true working professionals with viable businesses.

Name your proudest business moment.

When Sen. Al Franken visited us, and he told us to keep up the good work.
