Sears of Dundas Moving

Sears reopens in its new location at noon Thursday.

Come noon Thursday, will have a new home.

Sears, currently housed in the strip mall adjacent to , will move just a block north to the former Fashion Bug space attached to .

Dalton Moore, a sales associate at Sears, said that the store will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday to make the move. Trucks were already being loaded up Wednesday afternoon and exterior signage was coming down in preparation for the move.

Moore said the move will allow the business to have an expanded sales floor.

The Dundas Sears, which is a Hometown Store and not a department store like larger stores, carries, among other items, appliances, lawnmowers and tools.

The space Sears is moving into opened up a few months ago after .

The move comes amid hundreds of by Sears Holdings, parent company of Sears and Kmart.

The Dundas Sears is privately owned by Michael Miller, according to Sears.
