Carbone's Pizza and Sports Bar to Open August 1

The restaurant is hiring for cooks and kitchen managers.

A will open on Aug. 1 in Northfield, according to the restaurant's website

Co-owner Scott LaMotte is also hiring for cooks and kitchen managers, according to a post in the window at the 620 Water St. location in the River Park Mall. People interested in a job can apply through the website or call LaMottee at 952-746-8890.

The city approved a liquor license for Carbone's last month.

LaMotte, who is also a co-owner of the Burnsville Carbone's, said he hopes to bring the same flair of that location to Northfield.

“We’re looking to make it a full sports bar,” he told Patch.

He said the restaurant will be family friendly, have lots of HD TVs and plenty of games for kids.

“We’re looking forward to coming down to Northfield and getting involved in the community,” he said.

He said his other Carbone's is involved with Burnsville sports and hopes to do the same in Northfield.

In preparation for the opening, LaMotte said the kitchen of the Water Street space will be expanded, the bar will be expanded and new flooring will be put in.

Northfield is already home to several pizza places, including , , , ,  and .

Is he worried about a saturated pizza market?

“It's not a concern. Carbone’s Pizza is a very good product," he said, and, “We bring more than just pizza to the menu.”

Carbone's menu touts, among other things, appetizers, salads, burgers, wraps and hoagies.
