Giving TO Northfield

Think about what nonprofits bring to our community.

I work for a nonprofit organization, the Cannon River Watershed Partnership, in Northfield and much of my time is spent bringing in revenue to the organization. Right now I'm not writing to ask for your support - that comes later.  Right now I'd like you to consider all that nonprofits give TO Northfield and the surrounding communities. There are at least 170 nonprofits that show up on GiveMN.org when you search under the 55057 zip code. Some examples of the types of work we do include: feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, educating students, providing transportation, mentoring youth, providing kids with after school and sporting opportunities, music, theater, art, protecting the environment, assisting the disabled, providing health care, and much more.  All this helps to make our community the wonderful place it is. Think about what a different place Northfield would be without these organizations doing what they do day in and day out.

On November 15th you have an opportunity to give back to the nonprofits of Northfield by taking part in the Great Minnesota Give Together - Give to the Max Day - an online day of giving for nonprofits across the state. Gifts of as little as $10 will enter the nonprofit you donate to into contests to win thousands.  Learn more at GiveMN.org and stay tuned to hear more about the "local" giving opportunity that is being planned to complement the statewide campaign.
