Susan Hvistendahl Book Signing for "The Lyceum"

The Northfield Historical Society announces the publication of "The Lyceum:  Northfield's Oldest Building".  Susan Hvistendahl researched and wrote the book which is about the history of the Lyceum Society.  Founded in October 1, 1856, the Lyceum Society established a reading room, circulating library and debating society, with the goal of "intellectual improvement." Provided by the city's founder, John North, the society built the Lyceum in 1857 at 109 E Fourth Street.

There will be a reception and book signing for "The Lyceum" at the Scriver Building on November 18, at 6:30.   The booklet is available at the Museum Store for $9.95.
