Winter Weather Advisory Now in Effect for Northfield

The advisory warns against dangerous wind chills this evening.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Northfield and the surrounding area. 

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Monday morning.

Accumulating snowfall during the day will be followed by dangerous wind chills this evening, the advisory said. Anywhere from 2-5 inches is expected to fall in a broad snow band that expands southeast past New Ulm, north to the Twin Cities and east to Balsam Lake, WI.

The National Weather Service said drivers should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility during the advisory period.
