Nearly 700 parents and kids participated in the event.

Nearly 700 parents and children came together on Saturday to participate in the 's Healthy Kids Day.

Face painting, games, drawings, tumbling and gymnastics, dancing and interactive puzzles were main features from vendors that participated this year. Children enjoyed these fun attractions while indoors, but were treated to the Northfield Fire Department's fire engine and ambulance outside. Also on hand were the Sheriff's Office K-9, named Blade, and the Northfield Medical Center helicopter.

Healthy Kids Day is designed to teach children the importance of well-rounded health and focused practical healthy habits. The YMCA has organized the event around the fun side of learning by gearing vendors toward a kid-friendly approach to delivering much needed information.
