In Northfield, Women Talk Farmland

Women, Food and Agriculture Network held a meeting at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northfield.

The eighth meeting of the Women, Food and Agriculture Network in Minnesota drew 18 women in Northfield last week, according to Agri News.

The website reported the women discussed land stewardship and earning an income, among other topics.

In April, Minnesota Public Radio interviewed Leigh Adcock, WFAN's executive director. Here is part of her response when MPR asked Adcock about women in leadership positions in agriculture:

"A lot of women become farmers because they began raising food for their families because they want the healthiest, most chemical-free food for their families as possible. So around issues of health and food it's a real natural for women. As women become more active in leadership roles, I think the entire system of healthcare and production of food in this country will change for the better."
