UPDATE: Electrical Outages Continue in Northfield

Overnight snowstorm knocked out power to hundreds of customers in the city. That number dwindled to less than 100 shortly after 1 p.m.

UPDATE 1:20 P.M.: Electricity outages in Northfield numbered less than 100 shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday, according to the Xcel Energy website.

The outages were reported west of Highway 3.

Xcel Energy crews were kept busy trying to restore electric to hundreds of customers on Thursday morning. Portions of Division Street and Seventh Street were closed while crews fixed power lines knocked down by the snowstorm that struck the region Wednesday night and Thursday.

UPDATE 9:30 A.M.: The Xcel Energy website is reporting electrical outages affecting 668 customers in the Northfield area.

ORIGINAL STORY: Xcel Energy is reporting a number of electrical outages in Northfield and Dundas Thursday morning.

According to Xcel's website, roughly 700 customers were without power, as of 8 a.m. Thursday. Most of those outages were reported on the east side of Northfield.

Xcel Energy was estimating that power would be restored by 11 p.m. Thursday.
