City of Northfield Declares Snow Emergency

The snow emergency is in effect for 72 hours, according to the city.

The City of Northfield declared a 72-hour snow emergency Saturday morning. 

The snow emergency is effective immediately and will last until all streets are plowed curb-to-curb, according to the city's website. All downtown parking lots are closed Saturday, with the exception of the one on 5th and Washington. The following is the full announcement from the city:

Date Snow Emergency is declared: Satruday January 18, 2014
Date residential streets will be plowed: Saturday January 18, 2014
Date all downtown parking lots except 5th & Washington Street are closed: Sunday January 19, 2014 beginning at 2:00AM
Date of downtown snow removal: Sunday January 19, 2014 beginning at 2:00AM
Date 5th & Washington Street lot is closed: Sunday January 19, 2014 beginning at 2:00AM
Length of Snow Emergency: 72 hrs
