Where did that sculpture go?!

The sculpture at the corner of 3rd and Division has disappeared! The sculpture appeared last year in June and was created by a group of Northfield High School students with their mentor, Mac Gimse, Emeritous Professor of Art at St. Olaf College. The sculpture was displayed all year and was just safely moved to Northfield High School and will be placed in an enclosed courtyard surrounded by glass where future generations of students can enjoy the exuberant "Tree of Knowledge and Delight". This signals the beginning of a new student created sculpture garden at the HS which we hope will be added to yearly for the foreseeable future. A brand new sculpture will be unveiled to the public on Friday June 21 at 4:30. The "Young Sculptors Project" was made possible by a grant from the South East Minnesota Arts Council with funding from the Minnesota State Legacy fund.
