First Day of Fall Sports Practices at Northfield High School is Aug. 12

Here is information about the start of fall sports practices that was emailed to Northfield High School parents last week:

• First day of Fall Sports practices:  Monday, August 12.  Sport specific information regarding exact practice times/sites will be sent out by each coach.  If you don't receive information, please contact the head coach and/or the Activities Office.  See contact information below.

• All doctor's physical exam forms must be turned into the Activities Office before Friday, August 9.  Physicals are good for (3) years, but getting a physical every year is recommended.  Physical exam forms are furnished by your physician.  Lists indicating the Physical Exam Expiration dates are posted inside the east entrance at Northfield High School and in the Weight Room.  Also to note:  Incoming 9th graders -- you must submit a physical form to the Activities Office; the Middle School does not send over forms.

• Signed Registration Forms (by the parent and athlete) must be turned into the Activities Office before Friday, August 9.  Registration forms can be found online (on the School District website - click on Activities).  Hard Copies are available at the District Office, Weight Room, and the Activities Office.

• The athletic fee must be turned into the Activities Office before Friday, August 9.  Also note the policy on Scholarship/fee waivers.  See below:
The following guidelines are for the use of scholarship/fee waivers for co-curricular programs offered through Northfield High School and Northfield Middle School.  All students in items a & b below must qualify under the current school year's Free or Reduced Meal Program guidelines administered by the school district Food Service Department.
a. Students who qualify for the Reduced Meal Program are required to pay 40% of the total cost of the activity.
b. Students who qualify for the Free Meal Program are required to pay 20% of the total cost of the activity for which they are enrolling.
c. Students who do not qualify for a Free or Reduced Meal Program, but who have a financial hardship must submit an application for a scholarship, and if granted are required to pay at least 20% toward the activity fee.  A waiver form must be submitted for each activity, each season.  Waiver Forms can be found on the School District Website or can be obtained by contacting the High School Activities Office.

• Receiving all three items together (physical form, registration, and fee) is GREATLY appreciated.  In addition, please submit forms (registration and physical), and your fee to the NHS Activities Office [through] August 9th. 

• Mandatory meeting for all Fall Sport Athletes and their parents:  Thursday, August 15 - Northfield High School - 7:30 PM.  Winter and/or Spring Sport athletes and their parents are also invited to attend.
