Life, According to the Cat

A disgruntled cat mourns its happy mom's schedule.

Cookie time is late today.

Mom isn't here right now. She's out photographing some people.  She left me some cookies, but I would rather have gone with her. When she comes homes she talks about all the cool things she got to see and she smells like different people and places.

For the last two weeks she's had something to photograph almost every day. She said that the ceremonies were fun to watch. She played me the they sang at the end. I wish I could have played in the grove with all those wind chimes!

Mom must have had some cake Wednesday. I found some frosting on her hand. That was the day she went to the . She said that there were some happy parents and some children there with the graduates. I may not have liked to meet the children very much because kids like to pet my fur backwards. Mom said the kids were nice though, so who knows? I like to play with blocks and I like .

Now that I think of it, mom has had a lot of cake over the last few days. That would explain why she takes so many walks lately. Poor mom. She could give me her cake.

I don't think there was anything to eat at the the other day. When mom came home she insisted that dad make her a sandwich. He gave me some turkey and it was good. Mom probably liked that sandwich. Mom likes dad for making that sandwich—I know I would have. The camera bag was full of papers from the school. Mom took notes! I like to chew on these. When she's finished with her notes she throws them at the trashcan. The ones that don't make it in are toys. Mom looked at these pictures a long time. She said that the wasn't real and not to be afraid.

Then, on Saturday, mom went all the way to Lakeville. She came home covered in stinky sunscreen and had eaten a lot of dried apples. She keeps them in the camera bag to snack on. I am not allowed to steal them. Mom was tired after that trip. She seemed sunburned and happy though. She told me how the kids throw these heavy things to see how far they go. She showed me a . I do that a lot. There were some kids too. Mom said I should never do that, though.

I got to hang out with mom in the garden on Saturday afternoon. Then on Sunday mom was out again. She went to see some . I was on the porch while she was gone. The sky was blue and cloudless. Mom's pictures show really pretty blue sky. How did she do that if she wasn't here? I don't know what a graduation is, but it seems like everyone else is getting to have one. Do I get one?

After the graduation (where there was no cake) mom went to a (where there ) and she came home to tell me that that was  at the museum loves cats too. That made me feel warm and fuzzy, which is not always difficult.

Today is a rather chilly day and I have decided to let mom work alone in her office. Last night I was out far too late for words, and it will be sufficient to say that I left a present in the hallway that made dad upset. So, me and my upset tummy are in bed atop the laundry where all cats belong. Mom did come in to tell me she was home from her , but she did not bring me any cake, so I will continue my campaign of ignoring her. Her photos from today are not done yet. No wonder she isn't snuggling me yet!

Back to sleep. Perchance to dream - zzzzzzzzz.....
