Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Northfield

The advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday night through 6 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Northfield and the surrounding area.

The advisory will be in effect as of 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 and run through 6 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.

According to the National Weather Service, 3-6 inches of snow are possible in the area with snowfall beginning to increase Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. The Wednesday morning commute will be greatly impacted.

Meanwhile, much of the Twin Cities metro area, as well as towns in western Wisconsin and the Minnesota River Valley, is in a winter storm warning through Thursday, with up to nine inches expected in some areas.

The National Weather Service said drivers should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility during the advisory period.
