I received word that State Representative elect David Bly will undergo bypass surgery on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Rep. Bly went in for a scheduled stress test, followed by an angiogram on Monday. The tests indicated a need for the bypass.

He will remain in the hospital for up to six days to recover from the surgery.

Rep. Bly expects to be able to be sworn in at the Minnesota State Capitol on January 8, and assume full duties at that time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with David for a smooth surgery and speedy recovery.
