UPDATED: Police Searching for Missing Northfield Man

Northfield Public Safety Director Mark Taylor said authorities are evaluating their search options ahead of winter. He said they are waiting for fields to clear and leaves to fall to assist in their ability to search by air or from the ground.

After two aerial searches by the Civil Air Patrol this past weekend, there's still no sign of Northfield's Joshua Ben Bohlen, who's been missing since Sept. 20.

Northfield Public Safety Director Mark Taylor said authorities are evaluating their search options ahead of winter. He said they are waiting for fields to clear and leaves to fall to assist in their ability to search by air or from the ground.

Police say Bohlen's pickup truck was found near Goodhue Avenue and 110th Street in rural Northfield. Bohlen was last known to be on foot, according to police.

"We have nothing to indicate his whereabouts," Taylor told Patch. "(His) last known place was this field area, hence that is where we are concentrating our efforts. If he is out in that area, it is likely a recovery."

Bohlen is described as a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 180 pounds and has blonde hair. Bohlen has experienced recent mental health issues and his family is concerned for his well-being, police say.

Following a search on Sept. 22 and 23, police called off an active search, according to Deputy Chief of Police Chuck Walerius.

Residents with information regarding Bohlen or his whereabouts are urged to call the Northfield Police Department at 507-645-4475.

So are they saying it is now a recovery?

I've added clarification from Northfield Public Safety Director Mark Taylor.

Bah, I've been wondering if it might be primarily a recovery mission--hoping not, but wondering if they've been combing the fields in that area. The situation has reminded me too much of one that occurred in Renville County last fall (http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2012/08/31/renville-co-authorities-seeking-info-on-mans-death-disappearance/). I hope the family gets some answers soon.

Where do you get that from this article? Are there any newer updates on this? It just came across my page.
