It may not be that cold, but folks are ready to kiss winter goodbye.
The wrath of winter may not be what it was a year ago, but folks still descended on Bridge Square on Saturday to participate in Northfield Historical Society'ssecond annual Winter Scream.
The fundraiser offered ice cream, donated by Hogan Brothers Acoustic Café, and chili, donated by J. Grundy's Rueb 'N' Stein, for a $5 donation.
Highlighting the event was the communal singing of Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It," but with a wintry twist of seasonally appropriate lyrics.
In an attempt to bid winter farewell, these lyrics were sung:
We’ve got no friends in Phoenix
We’ve blown through all our Kleenex
We’re not going to take it, any more.
We’ve braved the snow and ice
We’ve shivered more than twice
We’re not going to take it, anymore.
