How to Help the Haslett-Marroquin Family

Northfield Patch will update the list as more information becomes available.

The outpouring of support since the Haslett-Marroquin's rural Northfield home was destroyed by fire on the Thanksgiving Eve has been awe-inspiring.

Within hours of the fire, friends created a Facebook page to help the family out, which now has more than 400 members.

Friends of the family held a bake sale during Winter Walk, organized a benefit concert that raised nearly $5,000 and organized efforts to collect clothing and meal donations for the family, which includes three children who attend ARTech and Prairie Creek Community School. Two days after the blaze, two dogs and a cat believed to have perished in the blaze were found.

Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin is executive director of the Rural Enterprise Center, which helps Latino families become agripreneurs. His wife, Amy, is a teacher at Prairie Creek Community School.

Northfield Patch will update the list as more efforts come about. If you know of one, leave it in the comment section and I'll add it to the list.

That's great, Olivia! Can people still donate on the Point?

Is it possible to update this article? The family has received all of the clothing they need, and the concert has now passed. Donations are now being accepted here: http://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/campaign-0-3662

Olivia, thanks for the reminder. I've changed the link for donations and updated the other information. Anything else that should be added or changed? Has the support fund been established at this time?
