Have Your Voice Heard About Safe Roads in Northfield, Rice County
A presentation and discussion are scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday at the Rice County Government Center.
Dear friends of traffic safety:
Please join the Rice County Safe Communities Coalition for a presentation of the SE Minnesota Toward Zero Death (TZD) Initiative by Kristine Hernandez, MnDOT Public Affairs and Toward Zero Death Coordinator for SE Minnesota.
Learn about traffic safety issues in southeast Minnesota and Rice County. As many of you may know, Rice County has been named to Minnesota's list of the 13 most dangerous counties for drunk driving.
The good news is we have moved from No. 8 in 2010 to No. 10 for 2011 because our alcohol-related traffic fatalities and serious injuries have been reduced by 25%. In fact, we had ZERO alcohol-related traffic fatalities of the four fatalities in 2009.
We need your input and help to make a difference on our roadways so we can keep our friends and families safe. Help us get off this list.
I hope you will be able to join us Thursday to learn about the efforts in southeast Minnesota and meet the Rice County Coalition members. Feel free to bring a friend or co-worker.
If you have any questions, please call or email. You can also check our website to learn more.
