UPDATED: Friends Respond to Help Northfield Family Displaced by House Fire
Already in the works are plans for a bake sale, a benefit concert and a website to accept donations for the family.
In less than 12 hours after the Haslett-Marroquin family were displaced last night by a house fire, more than 150 people have joined a Facebook group to help.
Already in the works are plans for a bake sale, a benefit concert and a website to accept donations for the family, which includes three children who attend ARTech and Prairie Creek Community School.
The page has filled with words of sadness, thankfulness and shock.
"All of these people are alive, be thankful," one person wrote.
Nobody was hurt in the fire, but the family's dogs were lost in the blaze.
Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin said his family is staying with in-laws in Northfield, he told the Northfield News.
Northfield Fire Chief Gerry Franek didn't know the cause of the fire but a state fire marshal should determine that in the coming days.
