Free Memory Screening Event Hosted by Northfield Retirement Community
In collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), Northfield Retirement Community (NRC) will host a free memory screening event on Tuesday, November 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Parkview West Corner Clinic located on the NRC Campus at 910 Cannon Valley Drive West in Northfield. The event coincides with AFA’s National Memory Screening Day, an initiative to promote early detection and intervention for people concerned about memory loss.
The free, confidential memory screenings are noninvasive and consist of a series of questions and tasks. Altogether, the screenings will take five to ten minutes to complete. Additional handout information will be available at the site, as well as free demonstrations of memory-enhancing computer programs. If it is suspected that the screened individual has any level of cognitive impairment, he or she will be encouraged to schedule an exam with a physician for diagnosis, treatment and access to support services.
